About Me
I am Roosmarijn. My name literally means pearl of the ocean and the ocean has been calling me back home.
Growing up in Holland I did not even like the beach. I think it was because I had nothing to do. But when I discovered surfing, everything changed!
my surf journey
I have learned so much from surfing. I believe surfing really made me who I am today. I love to share my stoke and help other people to connect deeper with themselves through surfing.
I joined some local surfkids in Panama at the age of 13 and went under the water for a long time. It took me years to pick up surfing again but when I tried it again at 18 I never let it go anymore!
For years I simply loved being in the water and was playing in the foam. Until I hit a point when I felt like I wanted to really improve and started putting in more effort to get better. I started doing surf specific workouts, got my surf instructor license and studied sport psychology to boost my mindset in the water.
The last six years of my life I have evolved my life around surfing. I mostly travel to places with surf and have been teaching and surfing all over the world. Recently I moved to Costa Rica where I am based in front of a world-class wave!
